Pieces of Juno goes sultry electro-goth on new single "Your Mouth Is A Dragon"
It's been hard to pin down the sound of Norwegian Juno Jensen in her guise as Pieces of Juno, and brand new single "Your Mouth Is A Dragon" reveals yet another side to the fascinating persona.
The co-founder of Oslo's brilliant all-female KOSO collective uses her smoky vocal to great effect on a creepingly entrancing gothic pop song. Strident 808s match up against distorted and reverb-drenched guitars - courtesy of Årabrot's Kjetil Nernes - and synthetic beats battle against marimba-style percussion.
As Juno sings "Your mouth is a dragon, and my skin is no shield / don't let them tell you how to feel" in her bruised and seductive voice full of warnings and promises, it's hard not to become immersed in this invitingly dark world of Nordic noir.
