Listen: Oyinda - "The Devil's Gonna Keep Me" [Premiere]
Nigeria-born, London-raised and Big Apple-based Oyinda has dropped another track exclusively on Best Fit.
Her triptych of noise current stands immensely powerful - check out Oyinda's other cuts, "Rush Of You" and "What Still Remains" - and this new instalment of her story doesn't betray that beginning. "The Devil's Gonna Keep Me" is a rickety, gothic ballad with scratchy strings and the booming plink-plonk of left-hand piano. Her vocals are characteristically flawless however, providing a light to the track and stopping it from veering into the territories of NIN or Bauhaus. There's hints of Laura Mvula in her subtly soulful compositions, but Oyinda's really in a world of her own.
