New Norwegian artist EMMA impresses on defiant and rousing debut "Diamond Heart"
Norway's EMMA just recently dropped her fantastic debut single, and it's filled with the confidence and class of someone who's been releasing pop bangers for years.
"Diamond Heart" is the first single as EMMA for Emma Williksen, who had previously been performing at showcases such as Trondheim Calling under the name Emma and the Diamond Hearts.
A song which begins with eastern-tinged R&B beats and a sultry first verse,"Diamond Heart" transforms into a defiant "fuck you" by the time a huge Sia-worthy chorus unveils itself. Williksen has a massive and impressive voice at her disposal, and it's the star of the show on the track.
EMMA tells us "There's no doubt that Sia is the one who's inspiring me the most when it comes to writing songs. I love her way of writing melodies and the way she expresses herself through her music. But i think many different artists are inspiring me without me even knowing it. I've heard from others that some people think my music reminds them of Ellie Goulding and Taylor Swift, which is probably right but i'm not aware of that when i'm making music."
The message is clear on "Diamond Heart": come at EMMA with whatever you've got, but she's not going to be beaten.
