South London DIY six-piece Blue Bendy share new single "Suspension"
Former Goldsmiths students Blue Bendy draw on their DIY ethos to capture the raw sounds surrounding nostalgia and romance on "Suspension".
Unveiling their '90s-inspired track spliced with fizzy guitars and rough drums, the band's second single is a leisurely pop piece. While Arthur Nolan's vocals are enthralling, his gritty drawls provide a gravelly texture to the sedating melodies. Garnering a sense of warmth, "Suspension" offers a comforting presence with its subdued ferocity.
“‘Suspension’ is a profoundly wonky lament about a bridge,” say the band, “a celebration of the monolith on Humberside if you will. It was conceived out of a desire to communicate its enduring status as a symbol of romance, nostalgia and yearning.”
Bonding over their mutual love of Stereolab and '90s fashion, these alt-poppers have constructed an sophomore single ready to give Sports Team a run for their money.
