Having just released her new single "Mermaid", which we called "enticing" and "impressively cinematic", Swedish singer Skott has been making waves thanks to her unique take on pop music that's won her fans in the shape of Katy Perry and Lorde. Here, she tackles the Best Fit Q&A.

What's your present state of mind and being?

"I'm in the mood for ice cream sandwiches and computer games."

What's the most overrated virtue?

"Maturity, I would say. I think to be child-like is many times a good thing, when being creative, for example."

What one thing have you learnt from your parents?

"I learned to care for small creatures. Dad keeps a secret 'spider room' in the basement, where he puts the spiders he finds in the house during winter, so they won't freeze outside. I also caught dad feeding a tired bumble bee once with a spoonful of honey. But he'd never admit that he's a softie."

What the most desirable quality you look for in romantic partner?

"I don't know if it's the most important, but it's great if someone makes me laugh."

What and where was the greatest meal you ever ate?

"I think it's called moules à la crème. Every time we're in Paris I drag the band around looking for it, and it's never as good as I think. But I still think it's my favourite right now."

What's your most treasured possession?

"I would say my necklace with the locket that has a picture of my family in it. But I lost it."

What was the last dream you had about?

"Me and my mom were fighting off a dragon using Nindendo Wii-motes."

What's the biggest lie on your Wikipedia page?

"I don't think I have a Wikipedia page, but if I did, it would probably say that I grew up without electricity."

If you could say something to your 15-year-old self, what would it be?

"Play more piano, but then I probably would've sang less. And don't spend so much of your time digging into conspiracy theories."

And finally, who would you most like to apologise to and why?

"I swam around a fence to get into a Sigur Rós concert. I would like to apologize to Sigur Rós for not paying for a ticket."

"Mermaid" is out now.
