RZA accuses Raekwon of delaying new Wu-Tang Clan album
Wu-Tang Clan announced plans earlier this year to mark 20 years of their debut, Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers), with a new (and perhaps final) album. With just over a month of 2013 remaining, de-facto leader RZA has come out explaining the delay, pointing the finger of blame towards a fellow member of the rap collective.
“You know, I give Cappadonna credit, he’s been really on it. U-God has been present. Masta Killa be representing. Inspectah Deck has been somewhat present. Ghost has been, you know, 20 percent present,” RZA told ESPN recently.
Raekwon, he says however, “hasn’t shown up at all”. The producer continued: “When you look at somebody like Masta Killa and U-God, they seem to have that original hunger to complete the legacy. I respect that everybody busy with they own lives. I started with a plan that I thought would work. Now maybe my plan not working.”
Raekwon himself responded to the quotes, later tweeting: “Yea i just read that rza article? Shit is funny to me. I love u rza, u know what it really is.”
Wu-Tang released a comeback track, “Family Reunion”, earlier this year.
