Olympics closing ceremony boosts sales of performing acts
The sales of acts featured in the Olympics closing ceremony has seen a sharp increase in the aftermath of the London 2012 games.
Among those experiencing a boost in the mid-week charts are Emeli Sandi, whose ’Read All About It’ is a new entry at No.3, while Elbow and Kate Bush re-enter at No.4 and 5 respectively (despite Bush not actually appearing at the event after being heavily rumoured to).
Ed Sheeran enters the chart with his cover of Pink Floyd’s classic ‘Wish You Were Here’, while Muse’s ‘Survival’ rose from No.62 to No.18.
Sheeran made the news this week when many of his fans mistook the Pink Floyd track for a new song of his own. Read the hilarious results below:
