Jimmy Fallon to take over from Jay Leno as 'The Tonight Show' host
U.S late night TV staple, The Tonight Show is expected to name Jimmy Fallon as their new host as the show is set to move to New York.
Rolling Stone report that Fallon, widely regarded as one of American TV’s brightest, as well as a staunch advocate of alternative music, will take over from current presenter Jay Leno by the end of 2014 at the latest.
The programme was last hosted in New York back in 1972, before it moved with Johnny Carson to California for the long-term.
Fallon, who currently hosts Late Night With Jimmy Fallon with house band The Roots (pictured above with Fallon and Carly Rae Jepsen) on the network, will reportedly move into a new “state-of-the-art studio” at 30 Rockefeller Plaza, aka 30 Rock.
