Frank Ocean drops charges against Chris Brown
Frank Ocean has posted a note online that suggests he won’t be pressing charges against Chris Brown after what has been termed their “R&B parking lot brawl”.
Posting on Tumblr, the singer wrote:
“AS A CHILD I THOUGHT IF SOMEONE JUMPED ME IT WOULD RESULT IN ME MURDERING OR MUTILATING A MAN. BUT AS A MAN I AM NOT A KILLER. I’M AN ARTIST AND A MODERN PERSON. I’LL CHOOSE SANITY. NO CRIMINAL CHARGES. NO CIVIL LAWSUIT. FORGIVENESS, ALBEIT DIFFICULT, IS WISDOM. PEACE, ALBEIT TRITE, IS WHAT I WANT IN MY SHORT LIFE. PEACE.”
The pair are said to have had a bust-up last month after Ocean was accused of parking in front of Brown’s entourage at LA’s Westlake Studio, blocking their exit from the building.
Brown later confronted Ocean, who refused to shake his rap counterpart’s hand shortly before the ruckus started.
According to TMZ, Ocean said “This is my studio, this is my parking space” before attacking one of Brown’s friends.
However, Frank Ocean tweeted a different side to the story, stating that he was “jumped by chris and a couple guys”, causing him hand injuries.
An insider has now come out and said that one of Chris’ people “jumped in front and hit Frank’s head’ and “they started brawling”.
It’s not the first time the two have clashed, with Brown telling paparazzi ”no homo” in response to questions about Ocean’s recent admission of his sexuality. While in 2011, Brown’s cousins filmed themselves chasing Ocean in their car.
When police arrived at the scene this time, Brown was reportedly absent.
