De Lux announce new record Generation, stream lead single "Someday Now" [Premiere]
L.A. weird disco duo De Lux have announced a brand new record called Generation, and are streaming the lead single "Someday Now" to celebrate.
Generation follows last year's debut record Voyage, furthering Sean Guerin and Isaac Franco's exhilarating synthesis of synth-funk, lo-fi pop and '80s new wave. They've had comparisons to LCD Soundsystem in the past, and if you're still mourning James Murphy et al., you might find solace in the stirred-up beats of De Lux.
It's not just an anthology of sound however - Generation is a concept album "inspired by the infamously uncensored lyrics of punk performance artist Karen Finley", and delves to the depths of modern life's complex issues. The twosome embark on a journey that explores the duality of "childhood and adulthood, nostalgia and aspiration, and dream and reality ... with a secret nod to the Pokémon theme."
Generation is out 22 June on Innovative Leisure.
