We’ve long been fans of Lianne La Havas. Her Best Fit Session from earlier this year remains one of our favourites, and since that performance the London singer-songwriter has bounced from once success to the next.
La Havas’ debut album is out this coming Monday and, in advance of its release, the title track has been given a characteristically enjoyable once-over by Scottish producer Rudi Zygadlo. Gone is the pared-back semi-acoustic instrumentation of the original, and in its place Zygadlo has installed a bouncy set of space-funk electronics, equal parts Dam-Funk and big beat. Add Zygadlo’s trademark hyper-skittish synths and you have, dare we say it, a major improvement on the original.
