Mondo Cozmo channels Arcade Fire on free single "Plastic Soul"
L.A.-based artist Mondo Cozmo has a new single called "Plastic Soul", but you have to email his lawyer to get it.
If you send a message to mondocozmo666@gmail.com you'll get a nice shiny copy of the tantalising "Plastic Soul" for yours for keeps. That's pretty much the only way to hear it at this stage as well.
Laced with wispy layers of harmony and euphoric piano, Mondo Cozmo evokes memories of The Suburbs-era Arcade Fire. The orchestral rush in the closing moments screams Beirut. There's hip-hop and post-rock mingling together, carefree. "Plastic Soul" is expansive, joyous, passionate, triumphant, traumatic, and much more all at once - it's another impressive outing from an artist defying convention.
