Jawbreaker Reunion set sights on the "Cosmos" with new single
New York trio Jawbreaker Reunion have announced the release of new album ha ha and then what ;), paving the way with new track "Cosmos".
Twinkling delicately into life, there's something luminous about "Cosmos" right from the start. Enchanting vocals soar through the stratosphere, guitar melodies glistening below. It doesn't take long for those melodies to take control, storming with an intensity that's almost too easy to get swept up in.
"Cosmos is about having feelings for someone who seems unattainable," Lily Mastrodimos says of the band's latest track. "You don't know what to do, or how to proceed, or if what you feel is real. All you know is that this person means everything to you and you don't know what you would do without them. They feel so far from you, and that distance feels infinite."
With this short, sweet burst of unadulterated adoration, Jawbreaker Reunion don't even need a full two minutes to work their way under your skin. The all-too-familiar emotions may be unrequited, but when it's made to sound this charming, it just might be worth it after all.
ha ha and then what ;) is released via Miscreant Records on 26 February, and is available for preorder now.
