Daisy Victoria blends agony and ecstasy on latest offering "Pain Of Dancers" [Premiere]
Up-and-coming indie-pop crooner Daisy Victoria is sharing a new single called "Pain Of Dancers" on Best Fit.
The tune careens through bright, spangly indie-rock and operatic noir-pop, with Victoria's victorious vocals at the vanguard. The gravity of her voice bears a few similarities to Nadine Shah's deep growl, but where Shah plumps for introspective glimpses, Victoria jets into the stratosphere.
The track was written by Victoria with Sam Lawrence, and was recorded at 4AD's London studio with Damian Taylor (Björk, Arcade Fire, Robyn) on mixing duties.
Victoria released two EPs in 2014 - Heart Full Of Beef and Nobody Dies.
