The Line of Best Fit
Sometimes electronica has a habit of overindulging in itself. Luckily for Oxford-based newcomer Catalano, his debut does nothing of the sort.
Yes "Whenever Something Is Broken, You Just Throw It Away" might be pushing the five minute mark, but this is a journey we only want to get lost in. From its crackling drum machine beats, to its sharp 8-bit effect synths and angelic echoes, Catalano's fastidious electronic wizardry casts quite a magnificent spell.
Out now via One Note Forever, "Whenever Something Is Broken, You Just Throw It Away" will appear on Catalano's debut album slated for a late October release.
