All Apologies: Little Boots

All Apologies: Little Boots

31 March 2013, 11:30

Victoria Hesketh - aka Little Boots - takes the Best Fit Q&A and tells us all about her nerdy childhood, her time in Bahia and why she wishes she could teleport.

Who would play you in the movie of your life?

I know she’s nothing like me but I absolutely love Aubrey Plaza (who plays April in Parks and Recreation). I think we share a similar sense of every day sarcasm, she cracks me up and is gorgeous.

What would your superpower be and why?

Probably to be able to teleport anywhere so I could visit all my friends and family instantly and be able to save about 30 hours a week I spend in airports!

What’s your idea of heaven?

I just spent a couple of weeks in Bahia in north Brazil and it felt pretty close to heaven on earth. That or someone inventing calorie free salted caramel ice cream.

What one thing have you learnt from your parents?

“Don’t let the facts get in the way of a good story.”

What song do you wish you’d written?

Abba – The Day Before You Came. It’s a flawless happy sad pop song that I am obsessed with.

If you could say something to your 15 year old self, what would it be?

Don’t worry that you’re a massive nerd who prefers books to boys and can’t figure out if you should be listening to happy hardcore or Celine Dion, it’ll all work out.

What’s your re-occurring nightmare?

When I wake up normally and get out of bed and go about my day then things start getting really trippy and scary then I realise I’m dreaming and wake up all over again. It really freaks me out and makes me wonder what reality we are in and if there’s such a thing as parallell worlds.

What song will they play at your funeral?

I would like ‘And Dream Of Sheep’ by Kate Bush but my friends would probably play something ridiculous like Macarthur Park which would make me smile at least.

What five people would you invite to your fantasy dinner party?

Giorgio Moroder, Benny and Bjorn from Abba, Brian Wilson and maybe Madonna or Debbie Harry.

There would be no food they just get an instrument each and I would be secretly recording the whole thing.

Who would you most like to apologise to and why?

My ever patient fans for taking so long to make my second album!

Nocturnes is relased on 6 May via Kobalt.
