D.D Dumbo plays the Servant Jazz Quarters in Dalston
Last night D.D Dumbo - real name Oliver Hugh Perry - played the second of his back-to-back dates in London, bringing twelve-strung psychedelia to one of the most intimate live settings in the Capital.
The 4AD-signed Aussie is making a name for himself thanks to his one man band live setup, looping heavily effected guitar lines with vocals and live drums to create the atmospheric performance.
With very little between-song chatter - "It's a Monday so yeah, thanks for coming" - Perry ran through tracks from his Tropical Oceans EP as well as seemingly improvised, chaotic number complete with pan-pipes, again using layers of his voice as backing.
Accessible tracks appear amid the hypnotic sounds that dominate the short set and the sold out audience mills around post show to offer their appreciation to the young song-writer.
