
Years & Years cover Pet Shop Boys' "It's A Sin" ahead of It's A Sin TV series launching tonight
Years & Years have released a stripped back version of Pet Shop Boys' "It's A Sin" to coincide with the launch of Russell T Davies' new TV series It’s A Sin, which Olly Alexander stars in.
Their cover of "It's A Sin" sees Years & Years swap Pet Shop Boys' synths for a lone piano melody, teamed with Olly Alexander's passionate vocal delivery.
Years & Years' cover arrives ahead of Alexander appearing in Russell T Davies' TV series of the same name, which airs on Channel 4 at 9pm GMT tonight (22 January).
The group wrote of their cover onn Twitter, "to celebrate the launch of It’s A Sin tonight, we are excited to share our own version of the song #ItsASin by the Pet Shop Boys. A portion of the proceeds for this release will be donated to George House Trust. hope u enjoy the song."

Alexander added of George House Trust in his own tweet, "a portion of the proceeds will be donated to George House Trust an incredible charity that have been providing HIV support, advice and advocacy services to improve health outcomes since 1985."
The band are yet to follow up their 2018 second album Palo Santo.
Earlier this week Alexander revealed that Years & Years scrapped an entire album of songs at the start of the pandemic, and is "trying to channel that energy and dancefloor transcendence" from It's A Sin to their third album.
