Isle of Wight's Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers, aka Wet Leg, have placed second in the BBC Sound of 2022 poll, following Mimi Webb, Lola Young and Central Cee.

Last Sunday (2 January) the BBC Sound of 2022 shortlist started to be announced, with West London's Central Cee taking fifth place, followed by Lola Young on Monday (3 January) and Mimi Webb on Tuesday (4 January).

Today (5 January), Isle of Wight's Wet Leg have taken second place. They've only released four songs so far - "Chaise Longue", "Wet Dream", "Too Late Now" and "Oh No" - but their self-titled debut album is set to land in April.

On Instagram, Wet Leg wrote of their placement in the BBC Sound of 2022 poll, "Not sure how this has happened but thanks BBC Radio 1 for having us at numero two-o in your Sound of 2022 list, in such cool company."
