Tune-Yards return with first new single in over two years "nowhere, man"
Tune-Yards are back with "nowhere, man", their first new single in over two years.
"nowhere, man" is the first new outing from Merrill Garbus and Nate Brenner, aka Tune-Yards, since their 2018 album I can feel you creep into my private life.
The new track title is a reference to The Beatles' "Nowhere Man" song, and is accompanied by a stop motion animated visual created by Japhy Riddle and Callie Day.
Garbus says of the track and video, "The song and the video for "nowhere, man" were created under conditions of feeling squeezed and pushed to the brink - relatively, of course. I wanted to ask, 'How loudly do I have to shout and sing before I'm heard?' And the video asks, too, 'What am I not hearing?' We hope the music brings energy and a strong wind of encouragement to those who are shouting and singing loudly for justice right now."
Last year the duo released their score for Boots Riley's 2018 film Sorry To Bother You.
