
Trailer for Todd Haynes' upcoming documentary on The Velvet Underground revealed
Apple TV+ has unveiled the trailer for The Velvet Underground, a new documentary on the band by Todd Haynes, ahead of its release in October.
The trailer for The Velvet Underground was shared this afternoon (30 August) via Apple TV+, and according to the video description, the documentary, directed by Todd Haynes, will be "the first major film to tell the band’s legendary story."
Pitchfork reports that on the same day, an accompanying soundtrack featuring "well known" and "rare Velvet Underground tracks" will also be released.
Next month I’ll Be Your Mirror: A Tribute to the Velvet Underground & Nico will be released, featuring covers by Courtney Barnett, Matt Berninger, Michael Stipe, Sharon Van Etten with Angel Olsen, Andrew Bird, Lucius, St. Vincent and Thomas Bartlett, Thurston Moore, Bobby Gillespie, King Princess and many more.
