The Weeknd unveils new cut "Take My Breath"
The Weeknd has returned with fresh single "Take My Breath", the first taste of his new era.
After announcing the new single with a clip featuring the Tokyo Olympics USA Women’s Track & Field team, The Weeknd, real name Abel Tesfaye, has released "Take My Breath" in full.
"Take My Breath" is teamed with a Cliqua-directed video that has epilepsy warnings due to the intense strobe lighting throughout. The video was pulled from IMAX screenings earlier this week due to epilepsy concerns.
The new outing marks the start of The Weeknd's next era, which is leadinng up to a new album that will follow last year's After Hours.
Earlier this week The Weeknd stated in a new GQ interview that the new album is "the album I’ve always wanted to make".
In the same interview, he revealed he would "love to work with Kanye again", and during last night's Donda listening event in Atlanta, The Weeknd did make an appearance on a new song with Lil Baby. Donda, planned for release today (6 August), is still nowhere to be found.
