New York dance-punks The Rapture appear to have called it a day, with a representative from DFA Records all but confirming their demise.
Suspicions first arose recently when frontman Luke Jenner was described as “formerly of the Rapture” in a press release. Self-titled sought for an answer to which label manager Jonathan Galkin said: “I kept thinking it might blow over but that might not be the case. Feel free to go to press with this headline: ‘Did the Rapture Break Up and Not Tell Anyone?’” Pretty much authoritative proof, then.
The band, who formed in 1998, released their last album In The Grace Of Your Love in 2011. You can remind yourself of “House of Jealous Lovers” from 2003′s classic Echoes beneath:
