The Lemon Twigs share "The Fire", the third single from their upcoming Go To School album
The D’Addario brothers, better known as The Lemon Twigs, are back with another track "The Fire", the third to be lifted from their forthcoming Go To School record.
Long Island brothers Brian and Michael D'Addario returned to music last month when they revealed plans to release their self-made, 15-track musical Go To School with the first single "If You Give Enough".
"Small Victories" followed in quick succession, and today The Lemon Twigs reveal the third track "The Fire".
Speaking about the new single, Michael D'Addario explains, “With any musical, you’ve gotta first believe that people breaking into song every five minutes is normal—there are no rules. You’ve gotta believe it in order to enjoy the music and absorb the weight of the lyrics. The ‘why’ is just because it gets you to the next part. It’s supposed to make you feel something. Go To School is not meant to be taken literally outside of the context of the art. It’s what they call a ‘movie for your ears,’ and this scene is called The Fire.”
Go To School was written, recorded, produced and mixed by the brothers, and follows on from singles "Foolin' Around" and "Tailor Made" that arrived earlier this year, and last year's Brothers Of Destruction EP, which acted as a final curtain on their debut Do Hollywood era.
The album features contributions from Jody Stephens (Big Star), and their father Ronnie D’Addario.
The Lemon Twigs will be joining the Arctic Monkeys on their UK and European tour, as well as embarking on a US/Canada tour later this year until early 2019.
