The Afghan Whigs' Dave Rosser has died
The Afghan Whigs' guitarist Dave Rosser has passed away after a battle with inoperable colon cancer.
"It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our friend, brother and inspiration," the band write on Facebook. "Dave Rosser passed away peacefully last evening surrounded by love. Thank you to all who kept him in their hearts. He is forever in ours."
The 50-year-old musician was diagnosed last year, with The Afghan Whigs performing a handful of benefit shows (with guests such as Moby) to raise money for treatment.
Rosser joined The Afghan Whigs in 2014 - after the departure of Jon Skibic - playing on this year's In Spades and its predecessor Do The Beast. As well as working with The Afghan Whigs, Rosser played with The Gutter Twins, Tim Heidecker, and The Twilight Singers.
