SOHN returns with first new song in four years "Figureskating, Neusiedlersee"
SOHN is back with new song "Figureskating, Neusiedlersee", marking his first new material in four years.
"Figureskating, Neusiedlersee" marks SOHN's first new outing since 2018's "Hue" and "Nil", although he did remix Birdy's "Deppest Lonely" last year, and also contributed a cover of Tim Buckley's "Song To The Siren" to 4AD's 40th anniversary compilation Bills & Aches & Blues.
According to a press release, SOHN's new single is inspired by Tom Waits' "Alice" song, and is partly named after a lake in Austria.
"The metaphor of skating a love’s name, etching it into the ice, really struck me – the danger of falling through increasing with each repetition," SOHN says. "I love the imagery of that."
A press release also revealed that the British-born singer/songwriter and producer currently lives in Catalonia, Spain, and is working on his third album, which will follow 2017's Rennen.
