Sleigh Bells turn down the volume on drastically different new single "Hyper Dark"
Noise-pop duo Sleigh Bells have dropped "Hyper Dark", a drastic change in direction full of menace and wonder.
The grinding guitars are still present, but mostly pushed to the background - otherworldly textures and faraway fragments of melody float around Alexis Krauss semi-angelic vocal line. It's not the standard barrage of noise that we've come to know and love from Sleigh Bells (although it's lovely nonetheless).
This is Sleigh Bells' third one-off single in recent months, following "Champions Of Unrestricted Beauty" and "Rule Number One".
Sleigh Bells' latest LP, Bitter Rivals, was released in 2013.
