Sinéad Harnett, Lethal Bizzle, and Bond composer David Arnold collaborate on new project
Grime veteran Lethal Bizzle, up-and-comer Sinead Hartnett, and legendary Hollywood composer David Arnold - a James Bond specialist - have joined forces for a new project.
Building on the momentum that grime's been getting in the mainstream press, as well as its inclusion at the BBC Proms, the trio are presenting "A Story", a new fusion of grime and orchestral music.
Lethal Bizzle says of the project: “The track is a celebration of my journey and bringing together two worlds - grime and orchestra. Throw the rule book out; music has no boundaries.”
Arnold continues: “There are no rules. Violins, beats, lyrics, rhythms, brass sections, distortion, guitars, samples… it’s all music, if it sounds good then it is good. There's no reason why grime can’t meet orchestra and this track is proof of how music knows no bounds."
Sinead Harnett finishes by adding: “I grew up listening to grime. It still resonates today in exactly the same euphoric way which is why its resurgence is so important and wicked! Having gone to the grime proms this year I can't stress enough how fitting a live orchestra is for tunes like 'Pow'. Live strings encourages grime music to sound as powerful as it deserves to.”
The track is set to be released as a free download in the near future - but before that, they'll perform it at a one-off show at London's One Mayfair on 13 October. To be in with a chance of procuring tickets, head to the Bulmers Facebook page.
