Shazam launch “Auto” feature, identifying music you hear every day
Music-recognition app Shazam have rolled out an “auto” function, which will allow listeners to track the music they come across on a daily basis.
The feature, now available on iPhones, will run Shazam in the background, identifying what music you hear in the supermarket or, say, during a club night DJ set without any need to rush and whip your phone out.
“The one thing we have with us all day, every day, is our phone,” a spokesman for the company said. “With today’s Shazam update for iPhone, our users can now capture all the media playing around them in the car, at a café, in a cinema, or while watching TV, even when their phone is locked or they’re using it to do something else.”
