In order to tackle crime at festivals and ticket touting, a new database has been started by the police (no, not Sting).

Andy Adams, Hertfordshire's Deputy chief constable, unveiled the plans at an Intelligence Engagement conference last month at The O2.

The database is being set up to store information on repeat offenders, and so that the police can follow trends in crime at live music - such as thefts, drug offences, violence, sexual assaults, and counterfeiting.

Speaking at the event, Adams said: "Some of my colleagues have done work in this field for the past couple of years, but we haven’t all coordinated until now. There are already some great relationships between the police and industry out there, but there is still a lot of work to do on both sides."
