Philadelphia venue Union Transfer names cloakroom after former employee Japanese Breakfast

Philadelphia's Union Transfer venue has named its cloakroom after their former employee Japanese Breakfast following five-night run of sold-out shows.

Last night (11 August) Japanese Breakfast, real name Michelle Zauner, finished a run of five consecutive shows at Philadelphia's Union Transfer.

Zauner used to work at thhe venue, checking in people's coats ahead of shows, and now the venue has named the cloakroom "The Michelle Zauner Coat Check".

She wrote on Instagram yesterday, "MICHELLE ZAUNER COAT CHECK!!! Thank you Sean Agnew and Union Transfer for commemorating our historic five night run in Philly with the most memorable present of all. The coat check I used to work when the venue first opened has now been enshrined as my coat check. I love Philly the most."

The Key reported that Zauner said of the venue at one of the shows, "I didn’t even really have the ambition at that time to be like ‘that’ll be me one day,' I was just like, "I want to work at a cool venue"."

Back in June a preview of a new Japanese Breakfast song "Better The Mask" featured in the Sable video game trailer.
