
Penelope Isles announce second album with new single "Iced Gems"
Brighton's Penelope Isles have returned with news of their second album Which Way To Happy, and have shared new cut "Iced Gems" to accompany the announcement.
After returning with "Sailing Still" in July, Penelope Isles have delivered a second outing from their Which Way To Happy album titled "Iced Gems".
Which Way To Happy will follow Penelope Isles' 2019 debut album Until The Tide Creeps In, and is produced by the band's Jack Wolter, and mixed by Dave Fridmann.
They started working on their second album at a small cottage in Cornwall, and stayed there during the first part of the pandemic last year. Jack Wolter says, "We were there for about two or three months. It was a tiny cottage with four of us in and we all went a bit bonkers, and we drank far too much, and it spiralled a bit out of control. There were a lot of emotional evenings and realisations, which I think reflects in the songs."
Speaking about working with Dave Fridmann, Lily Wolter explains, "He made everything so colourful. It’s an intense-sounding record – a hot record. It was so refreshing to have that blast of energy from Dave – it’s like he framed our pictures."
