Pale Waves plan to release a "pop-punk" EP before second album
Pale Waves have revealed that they will release a "pop-punk" EP before their second record.
After releasing their debut album My Mind Makes Noises last year, Pale Waves have revealed plans for their next release.
Speaking to NME at BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend in Middlesborough, Pale Waves' vocalist Heather Baron-Gracie revealed, "Fans are getting very impatient so I think we at least need to give them something. I think that’s kind of important as well, ‘cause I don’t think the album’s gonna come for a while."
Pale Waves are planning to release an EP before their second album. They apparently already have 18 new tracks ready to go, but the EP will be narrowed down to "five or six tracks". The ones that don't make the EP "will probably go on the album," Baron-Gracie added.
Earlier this month, Pale Waves' Ciara Doran posted to Twitter, "i kinda liked it when you were mine". Speaking to NME, Baron-Gracie confirmed it's a chorus line from one of their new songs, describing it as "a big tune" and "very, very pop".
Baron-Gracie added, "I mean, it could be a Taylor Swift song probably – the chorus."
Adding more about the sound direction for the new EP, Baron-Gracie revealed, "Pop-punk, actually. Honestly, we’ve gone quite punk with these new tracks. [It’s] very guitar-driven, but then we do have "I Liked It When You Were Mine". That’s like the poppy element that comes back in."
