Ólafur Arnalds celebrates winter solstice with Josin on second Sunrise Session
Icelandic musician Ólafur Arnalds has teamed up with Josin and the Reykjavík Recording Orchestra to deliver a new Sunrise Session to celebrate the winter solstice.
Today (21 December) is winter solstice, which marks the shortest day of the year, and to celebrate the occasion, Ólafur Arnalds has continued from last year's Sunrise Session with JFDR with a new Sunrise Session.
Arnalds opens the 11-minute session with a performance of "saman", before teamingn up with Josin and the Reykjavík Recording Orchestra for "The Bottom Line" - a track that appeared on his 2020 album Some Kind Of Peace. He closes the Sunrise Session with a rendition of his Bonobo collaboration "Loom".
In the video description, Arnalds wrote, "On this shortest day of the year, this is our tribute to brighter days ahead and I truly hope you enjoy it. Wishing you all wonderful holidays!"
