Mura Masa and WSTRN joint fifth in BBC Sound Of 2016 shortlist
WSTRN and Mura Masa are both fifth place in this year's BBC Sound Of 2016 poll.
For the first time in the award's history, both acts were given an equal number of votes by the "144 DJs and pundits" who shape the list.
The top five of the BBC Sound Of 2016 are being announced from today (4 January) on BBC Radio 1, with the winner eventually crowned on Friday 8 January.
WSTRN are a West London R&B/pop trio, aiming to represent a new side of the UK Capital's sound. Mura Masa is Guernsey-raised 19-year-old Alex Crossan, a producer who describes his noises as "lo-fi oriental-influenced beat music".
Last year's winners were dance-pop trio Years & Years, who went on to release debut album Communion over the summer.
