MUNA remix Lauren Aquilina's "Empathy"
Lauren Aquilina's latest single "Empathy" has been remixed by recent Saddest Factory Records signees MUNA.
Aquilina released "Empathy" at the start of the month as her follow-up to April's "The Knife", and today (18 June) the track has been given a euphoric, club-ready remix by MUNA, who signed to Phoebe Bridgers' Saddest Factory Records last month.
Speaking about the remix, Aquilina says, "MUNA are literally my favourite band in the world. I’m pretty sure I’ve been to every London show they’ve ever played, including opening for them one time. I had to have a couple drinks to get the confidence to message Naomi on instagram and ask them if they’d be down to do a remix for me, and I was so excited when they said yes. "Empathy" was already my favourite song I’ve ever released, so to have one of my musical idols do a remix for this song makes it even more special. I hope it soundtracks some summer memories for people this year!"
In a new interview with Gay Times, Aquilina said of her plans for this year, "I’m gonna be drip-feeding you more music for the rest of the year!"
Aquilina is also currently working on Rina Sawayama's second album.
