Metacritic list Fiona Apple's Fetch the Bolt Cutters as the best album of all time
Fiona Apple's new album Fetch the Bolt Cutters is the highest scoring album of all time on Metacritic.
Fetch the Bolt Cutters, which Best Fit gave a 10/10 album review, has topped Metacritic's best album of all time list with a perfect score of 100.
No other album reviewed on the site has scored as high (in the history of the internet/Metacritic's existence), and sits one point above Wadada Leo Smith's Ten Freedom Summers album released in 2012.
Other albums listed in the top 10 on Metacritic include Brian Wilson's Smile (from 2004), Loretta Lynn's Van Lear Rose (2004), Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp A Butterfly (2015), Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds' Ghosteen (2019), and more.
The top 10 also includes another album by Kendrick Lamar, as well as LP's from D'Angelo, Outkast, and Serge Gainsbourg, all sitting between a score of 95 and 99, with Fiona Apple's latest outing at 100.
Fetch the Bolt Cutters followed on from Apple's 2012 record The Idler Wheel.., and its title was inspired by a Gillian Anderson quote from British TV series The Fall.
