Manic Street Preachers link with Sunflower Bean's Julia Cumming on "The Secret He Had Missed"
Manic Street Preachers have released new single "The Secret He Had Missed", a collaboration with Sunflower Bean's Julia Cumming that will feature on their upcoming album The Ultra Vivid Lament.
"The Secret He Had Missed" is the second single to be lifted from Manic Street Preachers' The Ultra Vivid Lament album, after May's lead outing "Orwellian", and sees them collaborate with Sunflower Bean's lead vocalist Julia Cumming.
The Ultra Vivid Lament will follow Manic Street Preachers' 2018 album Resistance is Futile, and was the group's first album to be conceived on piano rather than guitar.
Manic Street Preachers recorded the album last winter between Rockfield in Monmouth and their own Door to the River studio in Newport. They worked with longtime collaborator Dave Eringa (The Who), and got it mixed by David Wrench (Blossoms, Frank Ocean, Arlo Parks).
The album will also feature guest vocals from Mark Lanegan on "Blank Diary Entry".
