Lorde on her second album: "The party is about to start. I am about to show you the new world..."
Lorde has penned a lengthy open letter to celebrate her 20th birthday - updating the world on the status of LP2 in the process.
Writing on Facebook, the New Zealand pop star delved into her ideas about age, fame, and growing up, explaining that debut record Pure Heroine was her way "of enshrining our teenage glory, putting it up in lights forever so that part of me never dies."
In comparison, the as-yet-untitled follow up is "about what comes next." Back in August she revealed that she was in the production stages of the record.
"I just need to keep working a while longer to make it as good as it can be," she continues. "You’ll have to hold on. The big day is not tomorrow, or even next month realistically, but soon. I know you understand."
Debut album Pure Heroine was released in 2013. Despite not releasing an album for a while, Lorde's certainly kept busy - she paid tribute to David Bowie at this year's BRIT Awards, has worked with Broods and Disclosure, and curated the soundtrack for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1.
