Little Mix make UK chart history by becoming first girl group to spend 100 weeks in top 10
Little Mix have made UK chart history by becoming the first girl group to stay in the top 10 on the Official Singles Chart for 100 weeks.
Last Friday (30 July) Little Mix's May collaboration with Galantis and David Guetta - "Heartbreak Anthem" - placed at number seven in the UK Official Singles Chart, making them the first girl group to clock up 100 weeks in the top 10 across all of their releases.
According to the Official Charts, Little Mix's historic chart record is followed by Girls Aloud, who spent 61 weeks in the top 10 across 21 singles.
Leigh-Anne Pinnock told the Official Charts of the record, "Wow! It’s amazing, and we wouldn’t have done this without you guys. You never fail to blow us away – you’re just incredible and we wouldn’t be here without you. Thank you."
It's possible that Little Mix could extend their new record this week with their recent Anne-Marie collaboration "Kiss My (Uh Oh)", which placed at number 17 on last week's chart and has potential to climb to a higher position.
In total Little Mix have had 18 top 10's in the UK Singles Chart. Of those, five songs went to number one.
