Another unreleased Prince track has surfaced today - it's the full edition of "Father's Song", which appears briefly in Purple Rain the film.
The instrumental ode only makes a cameo in the movie - it plays when The Kid (Prince) comes across his father's sheet music. Parts of the song were included on "Computer Blue", but this is the first time that "Father's Song" has been witnessed in its entirety.
The five-and-a-half minute track is part of the upcoming deluxe reissues of Prince's seminal Purple Rain LP, which you can find out more about here. It's the third unreleased tune from the release and follows "Our Destiny / Roadhouse Garden" and "Electric Intercourse".
The new versions of Purple Rain are getting released via NPG/Warner on 23 June.
