Lido Pimienta, The Weeknd and Caribou make Polaris Music Prize 2020 longlist

The longlist for this year's Polaris Music Prize has been announced, with Lido Pimienta, The Weeknd, and Caribou among those up for the prize.

40 albums have made the Polaris Music Perize 2020 longlist this year, after Haviah Mighty scooped last year's prize.

In total, 223 albums were considered for the longlist by the 201 member jury. The longlist will be narrowed down to just 10 albums on 15 July. This year's Polaris Music Prize winner will win $50,000, while the nine other shortlist acts will receive $3,000 each on behalf of Slaight Music.
