Lauren Aquilina shares new song "Hanging By Your Halo" and announces 10th anniversary London show
Lauren Aquilina is back with her first single of 2022, "Hanging By Your Halo", and will celebrate 10 years of her debut EP Fools with a London headline show in October.
"Hanging By Your Halo" landed last Friday (22 April), and marked Aquilina's first new material since "Empathy", which arrived in June 2021 and was remixed by MUNA a few weeks later.
Aquilina said of the new song, "In a way this is a love song, it’s about thanking [my boyfriend] for being an angel and for looking after me, but there’s a darker angle… How I hope he doesn’t end up resenting me for all the sadness I was feeling at the time."
This morning (25 April) Aquilina followed up her newest single with details of a special London show to celebrate a decade of being in the music industry. The headline show, titled 10 Years of Sad Songs, will take place at London's Hoxton Hall on 20 October, two days before the 10th anniversary of her debut EP Fools.
"It felt important for me to mark this milestone, not only to honour my early work, but also to show the progression of how far I've come both as a person and a musician," Aquilina said. "I'm so excited to share this special night with the people who have been going hard for me since day one."
