Laura Mvula comes fourth in BBC Sound of 2013 poll
Singer-songwriter Laura Mvula has come fourth in the BBC Sound of 2013 poll.
Announced today (1 January), the London musician is the second from the shortlist to be unveiled, after CHVRCHES on Monday.
Mvula was also recently shortlisted for the BRITs Critics Choice Award.
The annual list heralds the big names in new music and is voted for by the UK’s top journalists, broadcasters, tastemakers and bloggers.
Last year’s winner Michael Kiwanuka joined the likes of Jessie J and Adele in having topped the list.
The likes of The Weeknd, AlunaGeorge, Savages, Angel Haze, HAIM and King Krule remain in this year’s nominations.
Third place will be announced tomorrow (2 January).
