Krept reveals assault at Birmingham's 1Xtra Live event "could have been fatal"
Krept of rap duo Krept & Konan has revealed that the assault that took place at Birmingham's 1Xtra Live event last month "could have been fatal".
Last month, Krept revealed he was "good" after being assaulted with a blade at BBC 1Xtra's Live event in Birmingham.
The event, which was due to host Wizkid as the headliner, was cut short after Krept, real name Casyo Johnson, was slashed backstage.
Speaking on the BBC's Victoria Derbyshire programme yesterday (4 November), Johnson said, "I got a report back saying if [the blade] was a millimetre deeper, it could have been fatal."
He added, "I'm just grateful to even be here. It could have been a lot worse. Thank God."
Nearly two weeks ago Krept & Konan postponed their upcoming tour to allow Johnson to recover fully from the assault. He wrote on Instagram, "I've been having complications with my leg since and have been back and forth to the hospital and doctors. My doctor has told me if I tour next month, I could risk more complications. I need to make a full recovery because you know on tour it gets wild and what we have planned requires 100% strength."
