Kim Gordon to publish autobiography and book of essays
The split of her former band, Sonic Youth, has left Kim Gordon free to pursue endless other ventures, it seems. With the debut album from her new band Body/Head dropping next week, it’s also been confirmed that the musician will pen her first memoir.
The book will be published by HarperCollins and will “chronicle her choice to leave Los Angeles in the early ’80s for the post-punk scene in New York City, where she formed Sonic Youth”.
Not only this, but Sternberg Press will also issue a collection of essays she wrote for various art and culture magazine during the period. Neither of these projects have been yet given a firm due date, however.
Meanwhile, Gordon has also announced that she’ll appear in the next season of hit U.S TV show Girls, what will be its third to date.
