Kanye West confirms he's running for president this year, has already missed key deadlines
Kanye West has announced that he's running for US president in 2020, but he's already missed some important deadlines.
The rapper/designer originally announced that he'd run for president in 2020 back in 2015, and has floated the idea around in recent years.
Over the weekend, Kanye West reaffirmed his commitment on Twitter, writing, "We must now realise the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future. I am running for president of the United States! #2020VISION."
Tesla CEO Elon Musk appeared in a photo with West a few days before, and responded, "You have my full support!"

The 2020 US presidential elections take place in November, and if Kanye West does run, he'll be going up against Donald Trump and Joe Biden.
However, as ELLE notes, Kanye West has already missed the deadline in multiple states for filing his campaign with the Federal Election Committee (FEC), and he's missed the deadlines to register as an independent candidate in multiple states, including North Carolina, Texas, New York, Maine, and others.
