Kadhja Bonet releases new cut "Dear Gina"
Kadhja Bonet has unveiled her first single of 2022, "Dear Gina".
The LA singer and multi-instrumentalist made her return in September last year with "For You", and today (22 March) she's delivered a second new track titled "Dear Gina", which is teamed with a Ethan Samuel Young-directed video.
She's yet to follow up her 2018 album Childqueen.
Speaking about the break from making her own music, Bonet explained, "My forced hiatus from music has created an urgency in brand redirection. I began making music to get to know myself and fortify connections, and in many ways, I have derailed from that intention. I reflect on my last few years as a recording artist and see someone trying desperately to fit the mold, despite making music that does not. To be pretty, to be liked, to be relevant, good, or accepted."
