Julia Stone returns with St. Vincent-produced new single "Break"
Julia Stone has returned with new solo single "Break", which is produced by St. Vincent and Thomas Bartlett.
The Australian musician announced "Break" last week, and revealed she had been working on her new solo LP with St. Vincent and Thomas Bartlett.
"Break" has arrived in full today (15 July), and features production from Annie Clark, aka St. Vincent, and Bartlett. The track also features contributions from Stella Mozgawa of Warpaint (drums) and The National's Bryce Dessner (guitar). St. Vincent also plays guitar on the track, as well as keys and synths. Bartlett also contributed keys and synths to the song, as well as bass and the beat.
St. Vincent says of the track, "I was so floored by "Break". The feel, the vibe, it’s catchy but weird - like "You Can Call Me Al" through the looking glass."
Stone adds, "It’s when you first meet somebody, and you have that connection, and your chemicals go crazy. It’s about enjoying that first moment, without considering what comes next."
The Australian singer/songwriter is yet to follow up her 2012 solo LP By the Horns.
