John Metcalfe teams up with Bat For Lashes on "Just Let Go"
Bat For Lashes' Natasha Khan features on "Just Let Go", the lead single from John Metcalfe's upcoming record The Appearance Of Colour.
Metcalfe is a former member of The Durutti Column, the seminal Manchester post-punks, and has worked with the likes of Morrissey and Blur, but has set off on his own adventures of late, blending genres to create a solo record rife with soundscapes and neo-classical flair.
"Just Let Go" uses minimalist keys and aching strings to underpin flighty guitar melodies; there's a bizarre sense of calm flowing through the music, and it all feels hugely natural - as if listening to the world around you while locked in the great outdoors.
The Appearance Of Colour is out on Real World on 8 June.
